When I zoom in and out off Orford Ness, the detail appears at different zoom levels in different areas. It would be really useful to have the detail of wind farms at a passage planning zoom level round these parts ( East Coast UK).
Looks good and a reasonable price so far.

I have to keep re-loading the programme
Are these issues going to the same on the paid for version?

Hi,

I'm assuming now that you've have logged in to your ActiveCaptain account from Nuno...

To see the ActiveCaptain points of interest you need to be zoomed in to quite a detailed scale. In some parts of the USA the ActiveCaptain coverage is so good that we found it was hard to see the chart so we only display them very detailed scales. The search function will pull them out whatever the scale though.

Best wishes,

Orford Ness (I've edited and enlarged my reply):

The detail coverage of the chart information from the Admiralty does vary across the UK coastline. Mostly the charts have a nominal scale of 1:90,000 in that area except chart cell "GB302052" (England - East Coast - Orford Ness to The Naze) which has a nominal scale of 1:45,000. Just to the North we have chart cell "GB301543" (Caister Point to Thorpe Ness) with scale 1:90,000.

The Orford Ness chart is a better, more detailed chart and using the SDD (source data diagram) in Nuno we can see relies on some recent survey data. It's unfortunately surrounded by less detailed charts and that has a slightly jarring effect.

Because the Admiralty have better information they are obliged to pass it on.

We base our decision of what charts to display on the display scale. We hate it when the result is an ugly patchwork quilt (even though that's the reality of survey information).

Sorry about the 20 minute restart thing in trial mode by the way. It's a condition of our chart licensing.

We would recommend marking the windfarm up with a a danger area overlay (right mouse click, new area).

Unless you are a workboat servicing the farm.

Did you get to see the Active Captain stuff?
